In this episode, we had the honor of speaking to Sheikha Al-­Thani. Sheikha shared how her upbringing within the royal family of Qatar motivated her to engage in humanitarian efforts to help children in need. She tells us about her experiences working with children in areas of conflict to find hope and bring happiness to their lives. At just fifteen years old, Sheikha has already visited numerous hospitals, villages, and cities affected by some of the world’s most serious challenges. She shares how she has been able to achieve her mission to raise awareness and bring smiles to the children living in such conditions. Sheikha also informed us about her organization, Sheikha Al­Thani for Uniting Children SATUC. She tells us about the many aspects of the organization that work to help children around the world, including Fun Days for children from civil associations and orphanages, visits to hospitals and other institutions, as well as an international soccer cup for underprivileged children. Sheikha proves that age is just a number as she continues to serve as a role model, not only for the world’s youth, but as a role model for everyone across the globe.

From the moment Sheikha Al­Thani was born. She brought together different backgrounds and that characteristic has been As a teenager, Sheikha combines the natural responsibilities that her age entails, such as ensuring the best performance with her charity work. Even before she even knew what she would want to be when she grew up, Sheikha had a clear goal in her mind: she wanted to help other children to develop all their potentialities. In the beginning, she had to overcome important barriers, not only based on her young age, but also on her own background, but her real determination ended up persuading everybody around her that this was an objective for life. The little girl used to distribute foodstuffs on the needy as well as the underprivileged children. She cared not for hot or cold weather, as putting a smile on their little faces made her really happy. Year after year, Sheikha visited many villages in Egypt searching for smiles of children as she gives them new clothes or candy. She became so happy to hear old women invoking divine care for her for what she did. Sheikha refused to abandon such work as some people argued she was still a child to do so. Yet, her love and goodness encouraged her to stick to her humanitarian work. Sheikha chose her way and decided to establish a charitable foundation bearing her name. She was aiming no longer to give money or gifts away, but rather to help the needy, especially children. The underprivileged children became her very target. Those who need health care or education drew her attention. She named her foundation SATUC and decided to open a branch for SATUC in Egypt in order to continue supporting underprivileged children and the poor in the Arab world and Europe.
