In this episode, we interviewed Maura Pally, Executive Director for Secretary Clinton at the Clinton Foundation about her work at the White House, the State Department, and now the Clinton Foundation and what she loves about her current position and what she is doing with their newest “No Ceilings” Program. We also had the opportunity to speak with Penny Abeywardena about her position at the Clinton Global Initiative and how she will be involved in applying the “gender” lens to their various Programs and her work with the “Women & Girls” track at CGI. Penny’s interview was followed by Bianca Bracht and Melina Smith, two bioengineering undergraduate students at Duke University, who are currently involved with the non profit organization, ”Girls Make Change Through Engineering.” Our episode concludes with highlights from Women INVESTING in Women’s Founder, Anu Bhardwaj, who spoke to us about Women INVESTING in Women’s viral growth on Facebook reaching nearly 160,000 followers in 60 days since we launched, and our upcoming 2014 Global Summits in Stockholm, New York City, San Diego, Johannesburg, Dubai, Muscat, Santiago, Melbourne, and Singapore.

About Penny:
Penny Abeywardena is the former director of the Girls & Women Integration at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). She has notably led the growth of girls & women related commitments; advised multinational corporations, philanthropists, NGOs, and multilateral institutions to increase investments in gender-focused development initiatives; and increased the community of CGI members who are incorporating the gender lens in their work. She is a member of the World Bank’s Advisory Council on Gender and Development, a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a contributing author in the book “Women in the Global Economy: Leading Social Change.”
